Exporting and deleting your data
GDPR-friendly: how to pull your data out, and how to permanently delete your account.
EXPORT — Open Settings → Danger zone → Download. You get a JSON file containing your profile, every project, your subscriptions and credit transactions. Project output files (SRT, VTT, MP4) are referenced by URL so you can pull them from our storage at your own pace.
The export complies with GDPR Article 20 (right to data portability) — you can take this data anywhere.
DELETE — Settings → Danger zone → Delete account. You'll need to type your email to confirm (anti-misclick).
What happens next: - Your account is marked deleted immediately and you're signed out. - Non-essential email stops at once (no more marketing, re-engagement, weekly digest). - You have 30 days to change your mind. Sign back in within that window and your account is restored exactly as you left it. - After 30 days, the account is hard-deleted — projects, transcripts, credit history, everything. We can't recover it after that point.
PAUSE INSTEAD — If you just need a break, cancel your subscription instead. You drop to the free tier but your data stays. Resubscribe whenever.
