Adding word-level subtitles

Transcribe your selected range and drop styled, word-timed subtitles onto the timeline.

The subtitles feature transcribes the speech in your selected range and places styled subtitle clips directly on your Premiere timeline, timed word by word.

1. Mark In and Out around the section to subtitle.

2. Pick a style in the panel — font, size, colors, position. You can restyle later; subtitles are regular timeline items.

3. Click the subtitle action. Transcription runs locally on your machine (the first run downloads the speech model once). Your audio and video never leave your computer.

4. When it finishes, the subtitles are on your timeline. Fix any word the way you'd edit any Premiere text — click and type.

LANGUAGES Transcription is powered by Whisper and supports about 99 languages. English and Turkish are the most heavily tested. Clear speech transcribes best; heavy background music or crosstalk may need a few manual fixes.
