Using silence auto-cut

Mark In/Out, analyze, review, apply — how the auto-cut workflow is designed to be used.

Silence auto-cut removes dead air from a range of your timeline with ripple deletes, so everything downstream slides up and stays in sync.

1. Mark In (I) and Out (O) around the section you want to tighten — the extension only ever touches the range you chose.

2. Click Analyze. The audio in the range is scanned locally for silences; nothing is uploaded.

3. Review the proposed cuts. You can adjust the silence threshold and padding (how much breathing room is left around speech) and re-analyze until it looks right.

4. Apply. The extension performs ripple deletes on the timeline. It's a normal Premiere edit — Undo (Ctrl/Cmd+Z) reverts it like any other action.

TIPS - Leave a little padding (100–200 ms) so cuts don't feel clipped. - Work section by section rather than the whole timeline at once — it's faster to review and easier to undo. - Duplicate your sequence first if you want a belt-and-braces safety copy.
