Getting started with BestSubtitle
From signup to your first exported subtitle in five minutes.
BestSubtitle turns any video or audio clip into accurately segmented subtitles. Here is the fastest path from a fresh account to a finished MP4.
1. Sign up at /signup. You get 5 free minutes of processing — no credit card.
2. From the dashboard, drag your video or audio file into the upload zone, or click "Browse files". We accept MP4, MOV, WEBM, MP3, WAV and M4A up to 500 MB.
3. The job is queued automatically. While it runs we extract audio, transcribe with Whisper (word-level timestamps), then ask GPT-4o to find the natural phrase boundaries. The dashboard updates in real time when it finishes — no need to refresh.
4. Open the project. The editor lets you change font, colors, lines-per-screen and character budget. Changes re-segment your transcript live in the preview.
5. Click Export. Pick SRT (text), VTT (web), ASS (styled), or MP4 (burned-in video). Pro and Agency plans also export FCPXML and EDL for video editors.
