Exporting
Exporting to Premiere, Final Cut and DaVinci
Which file format goes into which editor, and how to import.
PREMIERE PRO — use EDL. 1. Export EDL from BestSubtitle (Pro plan or higher). 2. In Premiere: File → Import → choose the .edl. Premiere creates a new sequence with subtitle markers on a video track. 3. Replace marker text with your styled rendition if needed, or re-link to your raw footage.
FINAL CUT PRO — use FCPXML. 1. Export FCPXML. 2. In Final Cut: File → Import → XML → select the .fcpxml. A new event opens with your subtitle clips on a connected storyline. 3. Apply your usual Title style or drop the BestSubtitle MP4 directly underneath your video.
DAVINCI RESOLVE — use FCPXML. 1. Same export. DaVinci reads FCPXML natively. 2. Media Pool → Right-click → Import → Timeline → Final Cut Pro XML. Resolve builds a new timeline.
YOUTUBE / VIMEO — use SRT. 1. Export SRT. 2. Upload your video as usual. 3. In the captions section, add a new caption track and upload the SRT — done.
If you don't see FCPXML / EDL in your Export dropdown, you're on the free or Starter plan. The SRT exports always work everywhere.
